GHSA is inviting senior government officials and industry leaders to provide an update at the Monday Opening General Session on the ongoing traffic safety crisis, innovative solutions being deployed and how the roadway safety community can better collaborate to curb the violence on our streets.

Brian Latouf, President and Global Chief Safety and Quality Officer, Hyundai Motor Group, will share the automaker’s vision for highway safety
in the coming years, an update on Hyundai’s efforts to introduce new vehicle safety technologies and how we can best communicate to the public about the safe use of innovative vehicle features.

Sophie Shulman, Deputy Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will speak at the Monday Opening General Session. Shulman will address NHTSA’s priorities, progress made on the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Roadway Safety Strategy and how to bolster collaboration between federal agencies, states and communities.

Technology, emerging needs, shifting policy and other factors are leading the highway safety community to explore and adopt many new effective countermeasures.
